" My prevailing memory is of being in a dimly lit chai shop in Trongsa, Bhutan. We had been riding for 12 hours already. We were taking shelter from sub-zero temperatures, in darkness, with relentless rain and thick fog. The large group of riders that I was part of were faced with 69 kilometers over mountains on muddy roads in these conditions to get to Bumthang. Some were worried, some pensive, some excited, some steeling themselves, some too numb to think and all tired. Every single one of the 30 freezing ba$tards made the ride that night.
